Hello everyone.
I'm Teppi, a travel writer.
Introducing the 19th scenic view article😄
I would like to introduce Shiratama Falls in Niigata Prefecture✨
A waterfall where you can "Taki-Gyo" ! Shiratama Falls in Niigata City !
Shiratama Falls is a waterfall located in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture⛲
Niigata City has a strong image of the Sea of Japan and the Shinano River, but Shiratama Falls is located along the mountain in Niigata City😊
It takes about 40 minutes by car from the center of Niigata City to Shiratama Falls🚘
The road that branches off from Prefectural Route 41 is narrow, but the parking lot is well maintained🅿
Actually, Shiratama Falls has two waterfalls, "Odaki" and "Medaki". The one in the photo above is Medaki, and the first photo is Odaki😳
The drop of Medaki is approximately 7m📐
It is a short walk from the parking lot to Medaki🏃
From there, there is a nature trail that goes up the side of Medaki, and you can reach Odaki by walking along the river for about 100 meters🌳
The drop of Odaki is approximately 15m⛲
The waterfall looks like a sparkling white ball, hence the name Shiratama Falls🤗
When I went, the amount of water is small, so the waterfall looked like a sparkling white ball✨
Also, this Shiratama Falls has been known for the ❝Taki-Gyo❞ event since ancient times😳
It is said that being hit by a waterfall can purify one's body, and even though Niigata has a lot of snow, ❝Taki-Gyo❞ is held here in winter❄
❝Taki-Gyo❞ is a Shinto ritual, but it seems that the general public is also welcome to participate👏
So, I would like to participate too !
…if you think so, why not join ❝Taki-Gyo❞ ?
